Choosing a gift for a little traveller
Think about where the child will use the gift. Drawing at a table, waiting for a journey and playing at a friend's house call for different activities. Art supplies and a case that fits them can make a useful combination.
- For drawing: compare coloured pencils, colouring books, scratch-art notebooks and watercolour books with a brush. Each offers a different creative activity.
- For play: a memory game involves finding pairs, a jigsaw involves building a picture, and a kaleidoscope offers changing patterns to explore.
- For carrying essentials: check the sizes of zipped cases and pouches. Compare the design of the individual straw bottles too.
How can I put together a gift for a trip?
Choose one main activity and add what the child needs to enjoy it. Check the contents, item sizes and any age guidance in the product details. For a jigsaw, consider the child's experience as well as the picture on the tin.
